Get started
Install Khmer Keyboard, add it as an input source, and switch to it.
Requirements
- A Mac running macOS 13 (Ventura) or later, on Apple Silicon.
- Nothing else. Khmer Keyboard is free and needs no account.
Install
Download and open
Download Khmer Keyboard, drag it to Applications, and open it once. That first launch is what registers the input method with macOS.
Add the input method
In the app, press Install Khmer Keyboard. It registers, enables, and selects the input source for you.
If it doesn't show up straight away, add it by hand: System Settings → Keyboard → Input Sources → + → Khmer → Khmer Keyboard. That path works immediately.
Switch to it and type
Press the Globe key (🌐) or ⌃Space to switch input source, then start typing. Suggestions appear beside the text as you go.
macOS only finishes activating a newly installed input method after you log out and back in. If Khmer Keyboard isn't in the input menu yet, either log out — or add it by hand under Input Sources, which takes effect right away.
